Compare the Silly Goose Bookmark and Reading Cat Bookmark from These Are Things. Find out which gold-toned metal clip suits your reading style and personality best.
Quick answer
Choose the Silly Goose Bookmark for a playful, whimsical touch, or the Reading Cat Bookmark for a subtle, elegant look. Both are durable gold-toned metal clips that hold pages securely without damage.
Design personality matters most
Both bookmarks are made from the same flexible gold-toned metal and measure about 2.5 inches tall. The real difference is the illustration: the Silly Goose features a goofy goose design that adds humor to your reading, while the Reading Cat shows a charming cat that appeals to feline fans and minimalists alike.
If you want a bookmark that makes you smile every time you open your book, the goose is the clear pick. If you prefer something that blends in with a sophisticated aesthetic, the cat is more versatile.
Practical considerations
Both clips are flexible and fit a range of page thicknesses without damaging the paper. The price difference is small—the Silly Goose is $5.84 (down from $8.00) and the Reading Cat is $4.96 (down from $8.00)—so cost is unlikely to be the deciding factor.
The main trade-off is purely visual. Neither bookmark offers extra features like a tassel or page-marker ribbon. If you need a functional marker that also expresses your personality, either will serve you well.
